In the Association’s continuing efforts to support college athletes, the NCAA Board of Governors voted unanimously to permit students participating in athletics the opportunity to benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness in a manner consistent with the collegiate model.

Special Olympics Spotlight Poll Winner - December 2019 / January 2020

After 360 total votes, UNE SAAC hosts Spread the Word Inclusion Unified Sports? basketball exhibition wins the December/January Special Olympics Spotlight Poll by gathering nearly 56% (203) of the total votes. The Nor'Easters will receive $500 to use for their next Special Olympics event.

Diversity Spotlight Initiative - January 2020

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is the recipient of the December/January Division III Diversity Spotlight Initiative. The conference hosted a workshop for Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representatives and advisors. The workshop focused on social justice and the intersection of race, inclusion, and diversity within athletics. For more information see the recap and video.

The Diversity Spotlight Initiative recognizes and promotes outstanding diversity related projects, programming and initiatives that are occurring on Division III campuses and in conference offices. All selected recipients receive $500 toward their next diversity initiative.
